It is already evident that the new BMW 2 Series will not follow the example of the 4-door Gran Coupe, coming to the market as a RWD vehicle with a modest-sized radiator grille.
While earlier spy shots had shown the car with a thick layer of camo at both ends, the latest batch reveals a partially clad example with some new details in full view. Perhaps most importantly, it is obvious that the new 2 Series will not inherit the controversial 4 Series grille design. Furthermore, the whole design looks more evolutionary than experimental – and elegant at that.
Elsewhere, the side skirts look somewhat more aggressive, and the handles are concealed. Dual tailpipes and a small spoiler adorn the rear, and while we can’t see the cabin, digital dashboard and updated infotainment are high on our expectation list.
