The old 75-PS (74-hp / 55-kW) inline-four engine is gone, and a two-liter Honda F20C resides in its place with Jenvey throttle bodies and a redline as high as 9,200 RPM. The rear wheels receive 234 PS (230 hp / 171 kW) through a limited-slip differential, ensuring proper acceleration and dynamics.
The cabin is occupied by historically accurate Recaro seats, a detachable OMP steering wheel and – unexpectedly – a digital dash cluster. Opel Corsa supplies the power steering mechanism for more confident handling.
Coming in at £33,000, the unique ride isn’t exactly cheap, but it is still very affordable given its upgrades and the effort that went into it. Buying a stock 2002 instead would save you maybe 30% of that amount, anyway.
