A compact BMW 2 Gran Coupe that went into production in the fall of 2019 with the front-wheel drive will soon transition into its next generation. As evidenced by these spy shots posted on Motor1, the novelty is already running pre-production tests.
Motor1 believes the production will not start until the end of 2024, so let’s take a closer look at the car in the meantime. The front in particular looks drastically redesigned with new headlights, radiator grille and air intakes. Some details are additionally camouflaged with white mesh, making it difficult to draw any conclusions. If anything, some of the bodywork could be fake at this point in the development cycle.
The coupe-like outlines and side glass styling appear intact on the whole, while the taillights are new and overlap the trunk lid slightly. The exhaust pipes aren’t visible, but the car is definitely not electric.
The powertrain and the interior remain a mystery at this point.
