BMW has refreshed its 2-Series Gran Coupe sedan, advertising it as a whole new generation. It will go on sale in March 2025, but the most important specs are already here.
The new Gran Coupe is 4,546 mm (177.6 inches) long, 1,800 mm (70.3 inches) wide and 1,445 mm (56.5 inches) tall with 2,670 mm (104.3 inches) between the axles. The trunk size varies from 360 to 430 liters (12.7–15.2 cubic feet), and wheels come in sizes up to 19”. Inside, there is a new transmission selector and two displays sized 10.25 and 10.7 inches across.
Those looking to save on the new 2-Sereis Gran Coupe will want to consider 218d, a diesel spec with a 150-PS (148-hp / 110-kW) engine. It needs 8.4 seconds to sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph). The gas-powered 220 modification benefits from an electric starter-generator and outputs 170 PS (168 hp / 125 kW). The same goes for the diesel-chugging 220d, which makes a combined 163 PS (161 hp / 120 kW). Both can hit 100 km/h in eight seconds flat, but the gas version is one-tenth of a second faster.
At the pinnacle of the lineup resides the M235 xDrive, which uses a four-cylinder engine to send 300 PS (296 hp / 221 kW) to the wheels and reach 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds. As usual, the top speed stays limited at 250 km/h (155 mph).
