Alpina unveils its take on the BMW 3 Series

The famous German tuner has unveiled its new D3 S series, which comes based on the diesel-powered BMW 3 Series in sedan/saloon and estate/wagon variants (G20/G21).

Both cars enjoy numerous improvements to their three-liter, dual-turbo diesel engines assisted by 48-volt electric motors. The output rises to 355 hp (265 kW) and 730 Nm (538 lb-ft), enabling the sedan to hit 100 km/h (62mph) in 4.6 seconds and 200 km/h (124 mph) in 17.5 seconds. The bulky wagon is not too far behind with 4.8 s and 18.3 s, respectively. The sedan maxes out at 273 km/h (169.6 mph), and the family hauler hits its speed ceiling at 270 km/h (167.8 mph).

Eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission sends the momentum to all four wheels in both versions, and there is an electronic diff lock on the rear axle. Suspension makes use of Eibach springs, three-mode shock absorbers, and rigid roll stabilizers. The brake model is the same as on the Alpina B5.

Interior trim involves manually stitched fine leather, tuner badges, custom kick plates, branded seats and floor mats, and a heated steering wheel.
