Oldie-But-Goldie: BMW 323i boasts Ferrari 348 wheels

The iconic BMW 323i (E21) entered the market more than 35 years ago and instantly became a crowd’s favorite. Simple and almost unassuming on the outside, the executive compact had all the makings of a purebred sports car.

Packing a 2.3-liter V6 armed with an innovative fuel injection system, the BMW 323i made it to 100 km/h (60 mph) in just 8.8 seconds and had no trouble accelerating to the maximum 195 km/h (121 mph). Weighing in at just over 1,100 kilograms (2,425 lb), it also wasn’t particularly heavy.

This particular BMW 323i was spotted out on the streets in Japan by Speedhunters Magazine photojournalist Dino Dalle Carbonare. Before you shriek in fear, note that no JDM-style tuning took place this time around. The car simply received a set of Ferrari 348 wheels, a pair of plain-but-elegant headlights and a suspension lowering kit.

Looks great, doesn’t it just?
