Extra long: BMW debuts 4.8m / 15.9 ft. long 325Li in China

BMW has opened the row of its 2019 Auto Shanghai premieres with a long-wheelbase version of its next-gen 3 Series sedan/saloon. The company claims the car is the largest in its class.

With 2,961 mm (9.7 ft.) of distance separating its front axle from the rear one, the vehicle is 110 mm (4.3 inches) longer than the standard version. Its exact total length amounts to 4,829 millimeters (15.9 ft.). Owing to the larger dimensions, rear passengers now enjoy more legroom. The rear doors are also 110 mm (4.3 inches) wider in the new version, making getting in and out easier.

By default, the new BMW 325Li (the only next-gen 3 Series available so far) ships with a panoramic roof, a three-zone climate control, LED-based interior lighting, and advanced noise insulation.

The BMW 325Li ships with a 2.0-liter gas turbo engine rated at 187 hp (139 kW) and 300 Nm (221 lbft) of torque. The transmission is eight-speed automatic.

Standard and available driver aids include AEB, cruise control, lane control, engine start/stop, and backup assist.
