Tuners love working on the E30 BMW 3-Series, but examples like this one are fairly rare – mainly because not many would want to trade the stock engine for a U.S.-made V8.
The owner of the car felt it had too little thrust for drag racing, so he ditched the stock engine in favor of a 5.7-liter Chevrolet V8. He then hooked it onto a Borg Warner 4-speed A/T and Ford RWD system, replacing many stock parts with their more expensive performance-oriented counterparts.
The German coupe also gained Koni adjustable shock absorbers, powerful rear brakes, a Hurst shift stick and custom wheels wrapped in humongous Mickey Thompson 31x16.5 tires at the rear end. A roll cage and a cleaned-out interior round off the list.
The unusual BMW E30 3-Series is up for grabs as long as you can afford paying the $42,800 asking price. Considering that you could easily buy a used 3-Series for several thousand USD – and then tune it to your liking – this one looks like a hard sell.
