Ancient Ford shell finds second life on BMW 335i (E92) underpinnings

What can you do with a barn-found 1949 Ford coupe and a modern, but wrecked BMW 335i (E92) with only the drivetrain intact? We’d say nothing, because the two cars seem WAY too different, but thanks to John, from Arizona, we now know better than that.

A team of six people spent a year and a half perfecting the Frankenstein build, finding ways to fit 72-year-old Ford bodywork on top of a German BMW 3-Series chassis. They succeeded, as you can see in the video. In fact, the whole video is very insightful and a highly recommended watch.

While the exterior of the car has that unmistakable ‘rat look’, there are a few things that betray the true nature of the car. These include shiny new 20-inch wheels manufactured to order, a massive turbocharger sticking out of a window in the hood, and an aftermarket exhaust system. The interior is even more impressive: we can understand the climate control, but making cruise control work in a build like this is no small feat!
