BMW 3-Series Compact V12 is up for grabs in Norway

This unusual BMW 3-Series Compact received a V12 heart transplant from the 850CSi model and other performance parts borrowed from Bavarian cars. It is now for sale in Norway for 299,000 Krone, or $33,300 USD.

The car started its life as a 1994 BMW 316i, which its owner was dead set on equipping with the marque’s largest engine possible. As a result, the stock four-cylinder made room for a giant 5.6-liter V12 tuned to deliver around 400 horsepower (300 kilowatts).

Before it could be installed, the car underwent a complete teardown with many of its cheaper parts replaced with upmarket components. This included 850CSi suspension parts, widened wheel arches, the M Package, and period-accurate M3 seats and dashboard.

The owner says he outfitted the car with AC Schnitzer wheels at first, but later opted for an 18-inch set of Hartge wheels.

The odometer shows around 106,000 kilometers (just under 66,000 miles) of use.
