How do you like this crazy SUV made from a BMW E36 Coupe?

The unhinged custom car is up for grabs in Belgium, where it currently goes for only €1,300, but we have little reason to doubt that the bidding will liven up towards the auction end.

The so-called Stampertje uses a 1994 BMW 318is coupe as basis, retaining the original manual gearbox and engine rated at 140 PS (138 hp / 103 kW). Body and chassis is where most of the modifications take place.

The suspension benefits from numerous upgrade components found in newer BMWs, like the E46, the E92 and the X3. The wheel arches are cut slightly to accommodate large mud tires.

The body sports an external roll cage merged with heavy-duty bumpers at both ends of the car. A spare wheel is attached to it, and the bottom takes advantage of stainless-steel protective plating.

The only major modification in and around the engine bay is the new exhaust manifold, which ejects the gases straight through the hood. A snorkel is available for wading deep water, and the gear stick has been enlarged for convenience. Other than that, the interior is stripped clean with no trim on the doors, just a couple of bucket seats and a sports steering wheel.
