Tesla EVs have little to fear from gas-powered cars on the quarter-mile strip, but this BMW M340i xDrive underwent some serious aftermarket preparation and has no trouble taking on the Model 3 Performance.
The 3-Series comes equipped with the manufacturer’s favorite B58 three-liter inline-six mill rated at 388 PS (382 hp / 285 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque. You may think this is more than adequate, but a Stage II tuning courtesy of an uncredited tuner raises the power to 527 PS (520 hp / 388 kW) and the torque to 664 Nm (490 lb-ft).
This leaves Elon Musk’s electric ride slightly behind with 456 PS (450 hp / 336 kW) and 639 Nm (471 lb-ft). Let us not forget that it has instant torque, though.
Two races were held – one standing and one rolling – and the Bavarian sedan performed outstandingly in both thanks to its AWD system. Better see it yourself!
