Schnitzer tackles an elderly BMW 323i coupe

The BMW E21 323i came out in the distant year 1975 and had no M version. With one of its recent projects, German tuning shop Schnitzer closes the gap by giving the two-door sports car a turbocharger.

Proceeding straight to the point, the tuner boosts the stock 2.3-liter inline six-cylinder engine from 143 PS (141 hp / 105 kW) to 203 PS (200 hp / 149 kW). The torque simultaneously goes from 190 Nm (140 lb-ft) to 272 Nm (201 lb-ft).

As a result, the car shaves nearly three seconds off its sprint time and now reaches 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 6.7 seconds. The top speed rises by 35 kilometers per hour to 225 km/h (140 mph).

In addition to the turbo kit, the restomod enjoys an upsized intercooler and a stainless-steel exhaust system. It offers quite a bit in the comfort features department, a new power-assisted steering wheel, Recaro seats and Bilstein shock absorbers being just a few examples. Schnitzer re-finishes the body in a metallic grey tint with orange accents and puts a couple of spoilers on it. 15-inch BBS wheels fill out the arches.

Interestingly enough, we were unable to spot any custom badges or logos anywhere – perhaps the client wanted the car to look as clean as possible.
