A recent quarter-mile drag race put an E36 BMW 3-Series up against an S550 Ford Mustang GT. The odds would not normally be in favor of the Bavarian coupe, but an engine swap changed everything.
The poster does not reveal many details, but points out that the BMW comes powered by a five-liter V12. We suspect that the engine in question is the M70 mill that used to power the 8-Series Coupe in the past. In its factory form, it was good for 300 PS (296 hp / 221 kW) and up to 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque.
In contrast, the Mustang is stock and commands only eight cylinders, although the displacement volume is the same. To cut a long story short, the winner crossed the line in 13.2 seconds and the runner-up managed in 13.7 seconds. Which one is which? Place your bets and watch the video!
