BMW is participating in the ongoing Auto Expo with an updated take on its 3-Series for India, which has 110 mm (4.3 inches) of added wheelbase and is known as the Gran Limousine.
The engine lineup stays the same, but the sedan gains exterior and interior design updates to look more like its European cousin. This includes revised LED headlights, a reshaped radiator grille and a new front bumper. The M Sport package will be included in the base spec for the Indian market, adding a fake rear diffuser and other such bells and whistles. The standard wheel size is 18 inches.
Much more is going on in the cabin, where a uniform Digital Cockpit replaces previously tiny digital dashboard and infotainment system displays. The former now enjoys 12.3 inches of diagonal size, and the latter is even larger at 14.8 inches across. The underlying system is the BMW iDrive 8. Other changes include reshaped air vents and a new transmission mode selector instead of the usual joystick.
Like before, buyers get two engine options: the 2.0-liter gasoline mill makes 258 PS (254 hp / 190 kW), while the 2.0-liter diesel churns out 190 PS (187 hp / 140 kW). An eight-speed automatic transmission sends the torque to the rear wheels.
Pre-orders are already running starting from 57.9 Rs Lakh (~70,000 USD).
