BMW E36 Cabrio looks dashing with flexible air-ride suspension

An impressively clean and well-executed tuning build cropped up on YouTube channel Car Audio & Security: someone took an elderly BMW 3-Series convertible (E36) and put it on air cushions with five presets to switch between on the go.

At first, the owner had the car completely restored and the interior re-trimmed with natural leather. He then swapped the stock wheels for some aftermarket rims and rounded off the look with carbon-fiber aero parts.

For the suspension, the original build had KW coilovers installed. While practical and versatile, they must have been not flexible enough for the driver, because they ultimately made room for the Air Lift 3H system. The tuner put a pair of air compressors in the trunk and trimmed the rest of the area for a very stylish and clean look.

The ride height can be adjusted within seconds from a smartphone app, and the system can account for the load already inside the car. For a closer look at this impressively executed tune, watch the video below.
