The owner of this two-door classic BMW discovered it sitting in a dilapidated building with the roof hatch ajar. He had it completely restored, styled after the 3.0 CSL Homologation Special, and electrified.
The car now runs on a Tesla motor rated at 456 PS (450 hp / 336 kW), enjoying more than twice the power than it had when it was still stock. Sprinting from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) now takes three seconds flat, and the battery pack installed grants around 322 km (200 miles) of driving range before charging becomes necessary.
On the exterior side of things, the coupe rocks Alpina rims with numerous spokes, Wilwood brakes on both axles, and a stylish full-metal body kit riveted onto the main bodywork.
Special attention was paid to making over the entire cabin, which now has natural wood décor and further CSL references. Modern touches, like bucket seats and sunroof, round things off with style.
The owner says in the video that the car handles well despite being marginally heavier than stock due to all the power cells on board. Watch the full eight-minute episode to learn more about this fascinating project.
