1 of 17 Ascari Ecosse goes on sale

Ever heard of an automaker named Ascari? Klaas Zwart founded his company in the Netherlands in mid-1990s, dedicating it to Italian driver Alberto Ascari.

The automaker ceased to exist in 2010, but had enough time to produce several supercars, both pure racers and road-legal ones. The Ecosse is a mid-engined street racer packing an eight-cylinder BMW engine rated at 300 PS (296 hp / 221 kW). All of the 17 existing units had been sold to private car collectors.

The car makes the standard 0-100 km/h sprint in four seconds flat and has 20,586 km (12,791 miles) on the odo. The starting price is €165,000.
