BMW has revealed a couple of videos showing the upcoming next generation of its 4 Series Coupe. The entire car wears disguise, so you won’t be seeing any fine detail.
Compared to the technically related 3 Series, the 4 Series is 57mm (2.22 inches) less tall, has its gravity center 21mm (0.82”) lower, and boasts a drag ratio that’s better by 0.015 points.
Based on the M340i-like exhaust tips, the car shown on the photos here is an M440i, the second strongest 4 Series in the range after the M4. It comes equipped with a three-liter, turbocharged six-cylinder engine rated at 374 hp (279 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque. An 11-hp (8-kW) electric engine starter assists the main engine, and eight-speed transmission delivers the power to all four wheels.
The official premiere of the new BMW 4 Series Coupe is scheduled for June 2020.
