BMW has released all the specifications for the 2025 4-Series update due out in March this year.
On the outside, the biggest novelty comes in the form of redesigned headlights featuring new LED sections. The vertical inserts double as turn indicators and parking lights. Matrix LEDs and Laserlight taillights sporting 3D beam patterns are optional (you may have seen the same technology used in the M4 CSL). The body kit and the radiator grille have been reshaped slightly, too.
Moving on to the cabin, there are new steering wheel designs for every teim level. The infotainment system on board runs on an iDrive 8.5 operating system and benefits from numerous UI improvements. The ambient lighting and the trim materials have also been improved, with new eco-friendly options on the list such as Performtex and Sensatec.
In its most basic version, the 4-Series still utilizes a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine to send 184 PS (181 hp / 135 kW) and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels. You can pay a premium for a boost to 245 PS (242 hp / 180 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft). A 2.0-liter turbo diesel with 190 PS (187 hp / 140 kW) at the crank is also available.
Should you want six cylinders, you will be getting a 48V starter-generator capable of delivering an extra 11 hp (7 kW) and 200 Nm (148 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels for roughly 10 seconds. It should help with rapid acceleration.
Like before, the M440i for Europe churns out 374 PS (369 hp / 275 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft). The 430d makes 286 PS (282 hp / 210 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft). The M440d hits the wheels with 340 PS (335 hp / 250 kW) and 700 Nm (515 lb-ft).
The M440i for the United States has been slightly boosted and now delivers 391 PS (386 hp / 288 kW) to the wheels along with 539 Nm (398 lb-ft) of torque.
The production will take place in Dingolfing, Germany.
