The E28 BMW 5-Series sedan had no estate car cousin – not until the next generation. Mateusz Dąbski felt he could do with an E28 wagon, though, so he built one himself.
He obtained an elderly four-door Bavarian for something like €250 and cut it so that the c-pillar went all the way to the back, becoming the d-pillar. He put the rear end of the W123 Mercedes-Benz E-Class into the gap, stretched the roof to match and flared the arches to fit 15-inch wheels with some negative offset. He also transplanted the E36 BMW 3-Series front suspension into the project for added stability.
Wrapping things up, Dabski painted the body in a deep blue shade with some dark red flames drawn on the front end. The work looks so masterfully done, you will be challenged to prove it’s not a stock car.
The tuner has already participated in some drift races on his custom ride and seems fully satisfied with it. Selling it hasn’t crossed his mind, but in the video, he admits he will consider an offer as long as the price is right, and will simply build another such ride for himself if he moves this one.
