H&R, the widely known manufacturer of sports-grade suspension parts, has released a lowering spring set for the part-electric BMW 5-Series Touring.
All recent 520e 2WD models (G31) are supported, as well as the more powerful 530e version in 2WD and 4WD flavors (like the one in the video). The shocks can be standard or adaptive, it doesn’t matter because both will work correctly with the new springs.
Once installed, the springs drop the ride height by 30 mm (1.2 inches) at the front end and 20 mm (0.8 inches) at the rear end, ensuring more stability at higher accelerations and resistance to rolling in corners. The maximum permissible load is the same as OEM, and long-distance trips feel just about as comfortable as before the upgrade, the manufacturer claims.
A full set will set you back €333 in Germany.
