BMW 5-Series: New details

Motor1 is reporting that BMW plans on unveiling the next design iteration of its 5-Series on May 24, 2023. The leak also mentions interesting details about the electric BMW i5.

Among other things, insiders are claiming that we will be able to choose between a single-motor i5 spec rated at 340 PS (335 hp / 250 kW) and a dual-motor one capable of 590 PS (582 hp / 434 kW). The base version will allegedly offer up to 400 km (248 miles) of range. It is unclear how much different the top spec will be in this regard.

As well, we now know on unofficial terms that the traditional BMW 5-Series will ship with both hybridized and non-hybridized engines to choose from. An M5 model powered by a modified BMW XM drivetrain is slated to join the lineup much later on.

The production will reportedly start this summer, with the sales planned for October.
