BMW Group will participate in the IAA Munich show this September with a concept car named Vision Neue Klasse, a BMW 5-Series PHEV, and a couple of all-electric MINI cars. There will also be an SUV named iX5 Hydrogen, an armored car called i7 Protection and an e-scooter known as CE 02 eParkourer.
The latest generation of the 5-Series was introduced this spring – you can find it in the gallery and the video below. The auto show will see two new PHEV options added to the lineup – 530e and 550e xDrive. The former will rely on a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, while the latter will utilize a six-pot turbo. Both will get the same electric motor rated at 197 PS (194 hp / 145 kW).
The 530e will have 299 PS (295 hp / 220 kW) and 110 km (68 miles) of all-electric range. The 550e will output 489 PS (482 hp / 360 kW) and have 90 km (56 mi) of range.
As for MINI, the brand will attend the show with battery-powered Countryman and Cooper models. Next to them, the BMW Vision Neue Klasse will be exhibited as a preview of the Bavarian company’s car family coming next.
