BMW is busy developing a new generation of all-electric cars scheduled to debut around 2025 based on the Neue Klasse platform. Aside from being packed with cutting-edge technology, they will sport their own, distinct design.
We have already seen it implemented in the i Vision Dee Concept that debuted a few days ago (we reported; look through the gallery and watch the video to get an idea). In a recent interview with The Drive, BMW Chief Designer Domagoj Dukec shed even more light on the future of the Bavarian marque.
Among other things, he said the company would like to focus on creating clean and timeless designs resistant to aging - this would enable it to avoid pushing out facelifts too often. Dukec hinted that a future BMW car could go on for 10 years without so much as a mild makeover.
He also confirmed that BMW was committed to the traditional sedan body style and would continue producing it no matter how popular SUVs and crossovers might become. Performance-focused special editions will also continue to constitute an integral part of the brand.
