BMW presents its future vision full of electric cars

According to representatives of the German premium car manufacturer BMW, the company’s electrified vehicle lineup should expand to 25 different models by 2025. Of these, 12 will get an electric drivetrain with at least 700 km (435 mi) driving range.

It has been revealed at the recent press conference that BMW plans to sell up to 140,000 hybrid and full-electric cars until the end of the year, and raise this number to one and a half million in 2019.

It has earlier been revealed that a hybrid-powered BMW i8 roadster which debuted at the latest Los-Angeles Auto Show enters production later this year. It gets a 1.5-liter, three-cylinder engine with 231hp and an electric motor adding another 143hp. Driven by a hybrid unit like this, the car makes 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill in just 4.4 seconds and can accelerate to a maximum of 250 km/h (155 mph).
