The Bavarian-based premium car manufacturer BMW has unveiled M2 Competition, the performance-laden model of its M2 Coupe. The car will make it onto the European market this summer.
Compared to its predecessor, the BMW M2 Competition gets minor body design changes, a sports-grade exhaust system and a set of specially designed 19” wheels. It also offers considerably revised braking and steering.
If you are looking for the main improvement, though, look under the hood. The new BMW M2 Competition comes with the same 3.0-liter V6 engine some of you may have seen on an M3 or M4. Capable of 410 hp (305 kW) and 550 Nm (405 lb·ft) of torque, it can accelerate the car from a standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.0 or 4.2 seconds, depending on the transmission. Its peak going speed is manufacturer-capped at 250 km/h (155 mph), but can go up to 280 km/h (slightly under 175 mph) with the M Driver’s Package installed.
