The gorgeous BMW E38 (728) saloon came out in early 1990s to immediately become one of the Bavarian marque’s most popular high-end executive cars. Its timeless design and impeccable elegance are still relevant to this day, as evidenced by this China-tuned example.
The car depicted here is a special long-wheelbase edition called 728iL, which was made for China. It sports a number of aftermarket mods, such as the larger wheel arches, 19-inch silver-painted Rotiform wheels with a classical design, and low ride height. Other than that, though, the exterior stays largely original, which is commendable given its high status value.
The interior greets the viewer with resplendent natural leather and wood finish, while the entire tech, including even the car phone and the cassette radio, remains installed for the looks if nothing else.
The unique 728iL E38 comes powered by an inline-six engine with 2.8 liters of displacement room and 193 horsepower (144 kW) at the output end. It takes the vehicle from zero to one hundred kilometers per hour (0-62 mph) in 9.6 seconds and maxes out at 226 km/h (140.4 mph).
