BMW 7-Series ‘The First Edition’ goes on sale in Japan

The launch of the new BMW 7-Series along with its fully electric counterpart was the biggest news highlight last week. Now, the Japanese office of the Bavarian carmaker opened pre-order books for the limited First Edition run of both models.

Customers in Japan will be able to choose from three vehicles: 740i Excellence (380 PS / 375 hp / 279 kW), 740i M Sport (same power), and i7 xDrive60 Excellence (544 hp / 536 hp / 400 kW). The latter comes with a battery rated for 483 kilometers (300 miles) of driving range.

Regardless of your chosen model, The First Edition is maxed-out in terms of trim options, implying a 31.3-inch rear infotainment display, a 40-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system, and deluxe fit and finish all around.

The first deliveries are set to be made in late 2022. BMW will be making 50 units of each 740i for Japan and 70 units of the 740i Excellence.
