BMW 7-Series gets a JDM-inspired carbon body kit

The opulent BMW 7-Series (G11) isn’t exactly a common target for custom builds, let alone extreme ones. Still, AT26 Design felt it had some potential in that regard, so it produced a rather cool-looking body kit for it along with some other upgrades.

The Latvian tuning shop couldn’t find anything similar on the market, so it had to start from scratch withdrawing and comparing sketches. Once the body of the car had been scanned, the designers produced 3D renderings. They then proceeded to make a plastic mockup of the car and finally approved the carbon-fiber kit for production.

The biggest visual change is flared fenders with built-in vents. The package also includes a front splitter, side sill extensions, a trunk lid spoiler and a rear diffuser. To create a bit of a contrast against the grey body of the car, the carbon-fiber parts were allowed to stay unpainted.

Aside from this, the tuner replaced the stock 19-wheels with much larger 22-inch Z-Performance rims and dropped the suspension on aftermarket air springs. The Japanese Pandem Rocket Bunny body kit series was the main source of inspiration for the project, and it shows.

Last but not least, the stock 3.0-liter six-pot diesel received a massage from its original 320 PS (316 hp / 235 kW) to 406 PS (300 hp / 299 kW). The torque goes to all four wheels in the 740d xDrive spec.

The owner paid €23,000 for all the upgrades, but note that the car was delivered back in 2020, so prices may have changed.
