Harald Krueger, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BMW AG, said in a recent announcement that the company sees the current year as its ‘Year X’. What this means for us is that two updated SUV models, the X5 and the X7, will both come into the light before the end of 2018.
There is still little known about either of the two. Reports say the BMW X5 is going to be assembled on a brand-new car platform but will retain all the principal design features of its predecessor.
The refreshed BMW X7 will be the first to celebrate its premiere this year. The manufacturer admits to harboring high hopes regarding this top-spec SUV model. The X5 will debut shortly afterwards.
‘Year X’ doesn’t mean there won’t be much going on elsewhere, though. For instance, there is a hi-end BMW 8-Series coupe arriving in the dealerships this summer with a choice among at least six trim levels, including the top-spec Gran Coupe. The summer release is awaited with even greater anticipation than the X-Series premieres.
