H&R launches lowering springs for the BMW 840d xDrive

German suspension parts manufacturer H&R has started sales of lowering kits for the BMW 840d xDrive coupe and convertible.

Separate kits are available for the two abovementioned body styles, and the springs are only compatible with the stock adaptive suspension. Once installed, the 840d goes down by 35mm (1.4 inches). Aside from lending it a sportier overall appearance, the kit should improve cornering performance at higher speeds and reduce rolling.

A full package costs €434.20. Owners of gasoline-powered 8-Series may get a similar upgrade, but the clearance won’t be reduced by more than 30mm (1.2”) due to certain technical limitations.
