BMW had envisioned its 850i model primarily as a grand tourer for people loving luxury and comfort (watch the video to get an idea). However, an enthusiast came up with a brutal body kit for the car that made it look like a glorified track tool.
As far as the tuning is concerned, it’s not the level of execution that we have a problem with. Everything from splitters to flared fenders seems to be custom-made out of sheet metal with great technical expertise. The rear end is especially impressive and looks even wider than it is thanks to extra-deep Rennen forged rims wrapped in low-profile rubber. A satin-black vinyl wrap ties the styling elements together into a nice whole.
Black Alcantara is prevalent in the cabin – you can find it on the seats, the ceiling and the entire front panel, including the glove compartment. The dash gauges and multimedia come from aftermarket sources, and the owner claims the speaker set alone cost U.S. $5,000.
Rounding things off are custom heavy-duty brakes and a Wokke V2 power kit allegedly boosting the stock five-liter V12 by 10% to 331 PS (326 hp / 243 kW). A six-speed manual transmission drives rear wheels.
The owner of this badass (and wide-ass) E31 BMW 850i had recently put it on sale for a whopping $39,500. Considering its 29 years of age, it is a surprise someone actually offered $13,100 for it before the auction closed.
So, how much would a ride like this be worth to you?
