Just six years ago, this BMW E9 CS was an empty metallic hull without an engine or an interior, but Anthony from Georgia, USA had it rebuilt into a handsome restomod running on modern tech.
He bought a naturally aspirated six-cylinder engine of the BMW E46 M3 for the project. The mill slotted into a special sub-frame cobbled together from E28 5-series parts and custom machined components. The suspension received a similar treatment, ending up with E30 and E36 parts alongside Ground Control coilovers. The fuel injection and exhaust systems had to be implemented from scratch. In the end, however, Anthony was awarded with a fully functional and impressively agile restomod with 350 PS (345 hp / 257 kW) at its disposal.
The exterior received an orange paint coat and a body kit including a low front apron, matching side skirts and a ducktail spoiler. 17-inch BBS wheels with bespoke magnesium-alloy spokes were put into the arches wrapped in Continental tires.
Since the cabin was basically non-existent in the beginning of the project, Anthony designed it from the ground up in a rather minimalistic, purpose-focused way. The gear lever has no markings for its five speeds, and the rest of the cabin looks like something that came to us straight from the 1970s.
