BMW i4 and i7 gain new versions

BMW has complemented its all-electric i4 and i7 lineups with new versions. The flagship sedan received a new single-motor base spec, while the compact ended up with a dual-motor modifications. Both are available exclusively in the USA for now.

The new BMW i4 xDrive40 starts from $61,600 and brings 396 PS (391 hp / 291 kW) to the road. The torque peaks at 600 Nm (443 lb-ft). Outfitted like this, it needs 4.9 seconds to reach 60 mph (97 km/h) from standstill.

Range-wise, as long as you use the standard 18-inch wheels, the car gets 494 km (307 miles) out of its 83.9-kWh battery. Opting for larger 19-inch wheels slashes the range to 454 km (282 miles).

The new BMW i7 spec is known as the eDrive50 and uses its rear-mounted motor to drive the wheels with 449 PS (443 hp / 330 kW). It can be bought from $105,700.
