Camera-wielding spy photographers have been chasing after the new BMW i5 for over a year now, but today is the first time the Bavarian manufacturer treated us to an official image of the car.
Granted, it is still officially a prototype, and it is covered up so that we don’t make any premature conclusions. Even so, we now know firsthand that the model will first debut as a sedan in October 2023 followed by a Touring version for Europe sometime in 2024. There will be all-electric variants of both cars, too, including a couple with the M badge.
Depending on the region, petrol, diesel and hybrid powertrains will also be available for the new i5. However, all combustion engines will come bundled with a mandatory 48V motor for speedier acceleration.
