BMW channels its inner MiB fan powers for an i5 ad

BMW has shared a couple of videos dedicated to its all-electric saloon, the i5. Both nod towards the Men in Black franchise with their Angels Inc. headquarters and clothing style, just in white color, and praise the virtues of the saloon’s safety systems.

One of the videos talks about a system named Anti-Theft Recorder, which similar to the anti-theft solution implemented in Tesla cars. A number of cameras outside and inside the car can automatically turn on when a hijacking attempt is detected and document everything that’s happening in and around the car. Furthermore, the same system warns the car owner about the perceived intrusion attempt via their smartphone and can display video feed from the site. In the video, the angels investigating the ‘mystery feature’ remain ignorant of its workings while getting caught on camera.

The other vid demonstrates the advantages of the car’s remote self-parking system. The angels notice a driver whose i5 is stuck at a parking lot with its driver-side door blocked by another car. Angels Inc. sends in one of its agents for help only to see the owner of the car command it to wriggle out of its tight spot, which it easily does on its own.
