BMW teases the i7 Theater Screen ahead of premiere

The Bavarian carmaker has posted a teaser revealing one of the least conventional features of its upcoming i7 EV, a flip-down display called Theater Screen for the rear seat passengers.

BMW never mentioned the diagonal, but pointed out that it is a 8K display with a 32:9 aspect ratio. The teaser shows numerous app icons on it, suggesting that the screen will grant access to user videos and a variety of web services. Aside from it, the image shows a panoramic roof spanning nearly to the second-row headrests.

Judging by earlier leaks, the i7 features unusually shaped front seats with massive headrests probably hiding Bowers & Wilkins audio speakers inside. Other than that, the car gets a giant fake grille highlighted with LED stripes and multi-tier headlights similar to those of the facelifted X7.

Power specs are unavailable at the moment. BMW has only mentioned one version of the car, called xDrive 60. The similarly named BMW iX xDrive 60 packs over 600 horsepower (540 kilowatts) and offers around 482 km (300 miles) of driving range on a charge.
