The battery-powered BMW iX will soon be getting an M Performance version dubbed the M60, which is set to debut with aggressive styling cues and the capability to sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in just 3.8 seconds, making it a full second faster than the iX xDrive 50.
Today, AutoHome.cn has posted some parameters and photos of the car ahead of its full debut. Apparently, the M60 will sport slightly larger bumpers with a different trim compared to its non-M brethren shown in the attached video. It will also boast a tinted faux grille, upsized wheels and M brakes, as well as sportier seats in the interior.
Power will come from dual electric motors jointly rated at 619 PS (610 hp / 455 kW) and 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft) of torque. The current top spec – the xDrive50 – has 523 PS (516 hp / 385 kW) and 765 Nm (564 lb-ft) at its disposal. Top speed will not exceed 250 km/h (155 miles per hour) due to an electronic limiter.
In terms of range, AutoHome reports the new SUV will offer up to 575 km (357 miles) of WLTP-rated range, slotting in between the two standard iX versions. Battery capacity values remain to be announced.
If you were expecting BMW to participate in the CES-2022 expo that opened on January 3, note that the company declined the invitation due to the ongoing pandemic.
