The Bavarian car manufacturer has rolled out its new offerings for China: both the X1 and iX1 get longer wheelbases for that market, resulting in extra rear row legroom.
More specifically, both āLā models gain 110 mm (4.3 inches) of extra wheelbase in the country for a total of 2,802 mm (109.45 inches). You can recognize these new SUVs by their larger rear doors and different-looking faux grille in the case of the iX1L. Inside, the entire added space goes to the rear row with the rest staying unchanged.
The BMW X1L comes with a choice between two traditional petrol engines ā a 1.5L one rated at 156 PS (154 hp / 115 kW) and a 2.0L alternative with 204 PS (201 hp / 150 kW) under its command. All-wheel drive is optionally available. The electric iX1L uses dual motors and has 313 PS (309 hp / 230 kW) in an AWD setup, but a single-motor version is scheduled for launch in 2024.
