BMW sets iX3 reveal on next Tuesday, July 14

The Bavarian carmaker has released another teaser video showing its all-electric SUV, the iX3. The car will debut online on July 14 with no live event to accompany the launch.

Design and tech are the two areas where the battery-powered BMW X3 stands out from its fuel-burning counterpart. It comes equipped with a single rear-mounted electric motor rated at 286 PS (210 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. Its 74-kW battery grants it 440 kilometers (273 miles) of WLTP-rated range.

Another interesting feature of the impending SUV arrives in the form of its aerodynamically cast alloys with V-shaped spokes, as well as plastic and aluminum inserts allegedly reducing the drag further. The manufacturer claims these wheels alone grant the car 10 km (6.2 miles) of extra range.

The production will start at the BMW-Brilliance joint enterprise in China.
