2022 BMW iX3 facelift brings exterior and cabin updates, same tech

The battery-powered, crossover-shaped BMW iX3 debuted a year ago, but the Bavarian company still decided to refresh it along with its ICE-powered sibling, the X3.

Buyers can opt for an M Sport package that now includes new bumpers and 19-inch wheels (20-inch optional). The blue exterior trim pieces hinting at the electric essence of the car have been repositioned, the radiator grille enlarged, the headlights narrowed by 10 mm (0.4”) and the taillights upgraded with 3D-like patterns. Adaptive headlights are now included in the base spec, but you still need to pay for Laserlight LEDs.

Both the digital dash cluster and the infotainment touchscreen measure 12.3 inches across now. The center console has been redesigned and the gear selector reshaped. Sensatec-wrapped bucket seats and aluminum accents are now standard.

As we mentioned above, the powertrain stays untouched. The only electric motor sits at the rear axle, driving it with 286 PS (282 hp / 210 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. The SUV needs 6.8 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from standstill and goes on to cover 460 km (285 miles) on a single charge thanks to an 80-kWh battery.

The production will continue to take place at the BMW-Brilliance joint enterprise in Shenyang, China, from where the company exports the model to various countries.
