BMW Motorsport, a racecar subdivision of BMW, has prolonged its contract with VLN, holder of the VLN Endurance Championship. To celebrate this, the company released an update to its M235i Racing Cup.
The new option package is called “Evo” and includes new rear wing flaps, tweaked engine control firmware and a more ergonomic driver’s seat. To highlight the upgrade, the company renamed the model from M235i to M240i.
The BMW M240i is an entry-level racecar which is marketed below the mid-range M4 GT4. The top of the line is claimed by the M6 GT3.
Among other things, BMW Motorsport said it would raise the prize money from €75,000 to €100,000 starting in 2019.
