BMW is celebrating 50 years of its M subdivision with a video that looks back on its heritage and then faces the future with optimistic mottos. In addition to all the cars, it stars a bike – the first M vehicle from BMW Motorrad.
The footage shows such familiar icons as the M3, M4 and M8 along with some SUVs, such as the X4 M and X6 M. The newest models are represented, tool there are the electric iX M60, the i4 M50, and the Concept XM set to go into production in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The BMW Vision M Next design study also makes an appearance, despite having to production prospects.
The sports bike shown here is a BMW M 1000 R, which two separate divisions of the company developed together and unveiled a year and a half ago. The concept needs 3.1 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from standing still.
Multiple BMW sports cars will go on sale later this year with a retro-themed BMW badge, which is also shown in the video.
