BMW has brought a video to the LA Auto Show demonstrating the exhaust soundtrack of the M2 CS coupe. It sounds good!
A 3.0-liter inline-six engine sits under the hood of the new M2 CS, delivering up to 450 hp (336 kW) to the wheels thanks to dual turbochargers. Switch into Sport Plus mode, and it hums lower and deeper than the M2 Competition with its 410 hp (306 kW). The standard mode is quieter, but by no means tame.
The video here demonstrates the U.S. version of the M2 CS; BMW says that the European version sounds considerably softer.
The CS is the flagship of the 2 Series. As such, it comes equipped with a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed DSG. The former allows it to make the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint in 4.2 seconds and the latter in 4 s. The top speed can reach 280 km/h (174 mph) with the optional Driver’s Package installed.
