LIGHTWEIGHT Performance pushes BMW M2 Competition to 500 HP

Germany-based tuner LIGHTWEIGHT Performance has unveiled an extensive customization package for the BMW M2 Competition, which makes it both lighter and stronger.

The coupe gets a carbon-fiber roof and a body kit made of the same material, which consists of a front spoiler, a rear diffuser, and a rear wing. The tuner claims that all components have been tested for aerodynamic efficiency and should improve handling at higher speeds.

The latter bit is especially important since the M2 gets a boost to a whopping 494 hp (368 kW) and 653 Nm (482 lb-ft) of torque. As a result, it can now hit 303 km/h (188 mph) in a straight line. New performance brakes and height-adjustable Bilstein Clubsport suspension should help harness this kind of power.

Rounding off the list are lightweight 19-inch rims and exhaust system. The entire bundle costs around €20,000.
