Top Gear host Chris Harris has had an opportunity to drive many cars throughout the years, but his daily is this driver-focused BMW M2 Competition. After a while, the coupe lost its shine and had to be refreshed – here’s what came out of it.
A detailer firm based in Great Britain shot a 10-minute long video dedicated to all the procedures necessary to make an old ride look indistinguishable from new. Among other things, attention must be paid to the smaller details that can ruin the whole impression if neglected. Aside from the fresh paint coat, the M2 received a new set of wheels, an Akrapovic exhaust and Bilstein shocks.
Powering the coupe is a 3.0-liter inline-six engine that hits the wheels with 411 PS (405 hp / 302 kW) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft). The CS flagship spec has more power at 450 PS (444 hp / 331 kW) and the same peak torque, but Chris says he still prefers the Competition for how enjoyable it is to drive.
