Homebrewed BMW M2 CSL gets a detailed video review

Manu BMW fans take issue with the Bavarian carmaker not producing an M2 CSL, but one of them apparently had enough time to himself last year to build a very convincing imitation.

Marc Rutten was lucky to grab the attention of the BMW Design department, which helped him with the project, and Topaz Detailing, which worked its magic on the exterior. He ended up with a gorgeous coupe weighing in 110 kg (242 lbs) under the regular CS and powered by an engine upgraded to 527 PS (520 hp / 388 kW) and 660 Nm (487 lb-ft) of torque.

For its own part, Topaz applied an intricate combination of paints and wraps to the bodywork and aero kit to make the result shine the way it does. Mesmerizing, is it not?

Watch the full 20-minute-ish video for some valuable insight into the specifics of such projects.
