We will admit that it can be hard not to get overwhelmed by all the tuning projects being unveiled at major annual shows like SEMA, so some are bound to slip from our attention. Allow us to look back at some of them, including this gorgeous Hellcat-swapped BMW M2 Competition.
Filippo Speed Shop kicked things off by dismantling the stock three-liter inline-six mill with its 411 PS (405 hp / 302 lb-ft) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque. It then put a 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8 in its place, the likes of which usually power the Dodge Charger and Challenger. Aside from having to modify the bay adding new mount points, they apparently did not need much to fit the engine under the hood despite its larger displacement and the turbo.
A Sadev sequential gearbox was entrusted with sending the torque to the wheels. The output was allowed to remain stock at 717 PS (707 hp / 527 kW) and 881 Nm (650 lb-ft) of torque. For an M2, of course, this is still plenty of thrust. StopTech brakes were installed all around with six-piston calipers at the front and four-piston ones at the rear. A carbon fiber body kit, new 18-inch wheels and height-adjustable suspension rounded things off.
