The new year shapes up to be a busy one for BMW M, which has the M4 CSL, M3 Touring and XM models on its hands to work with aside from the next generation of the M2, destined to become the new 2-Series flagship.
The car is currently being driven in extreme weather conditions near the Arctic Circle. The spy photos suggest a lack of oversized kidneys, which is good news for everyone who hated them on the new M3 and M4. The grille looks rather traditional, and there are multiple new air intakes for engine and brake cooling that look quite organic at the front end.
Rumor has it the standard M2 will produce 400 PS (394 hp / 294 kW), while the Competition spec will offer 430 PS (424 hp / 316 kW). Both should premiere in summer, with the hardcore CS and CSL versions set to follow later.
